Sedgwick County Communications Center

The Sedgwick County Communications Center is accepting applications for the following positions.  Salary will be based on experience.

Emergency Communications Specialists: Requirements include but are not limited to high school diploma or GED, Colorado driver's license, ability to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain CPR, first aid, EMD, and CCIC/NCIC clearance.

 

Emergency Communications Center Director: Requirements include those listed above in addition to: (bachelor's degree in business management, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or two (2) year equivalent college certifications), (three (3) years experience in a 911 Communications Center or Emergency Services with administrative or supervisory responsibilities in another related field).  Must complete APCO Certified Public Safety Executive, Registered Public Safety Leader, NENA Center Manager Certification, ENP991 Certification.

Veterans Service Officer

Sedgwick County is now accepting applications for the position of Veterans Service Officer. Applicants must be an honorably discharged U.S. veteran, have a valid driver’s license, have a high level of empathy and compassion for clients, and be able to meet all requirements outlined in the Colorado Division of Veterans Affairs Policy & Procedures Manual. The desired skills for this position include familiarity with benefit programs available to U.S. veterans, excellence in both verbal and non-verbal communication, proficiency in the use of technology, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to represent Sedgwick County in a highly professional manner.

Salary range for VSO is $650 - $850 per month based on experience.  Applications will be accepted until December 10, 2024. Equal Opportunity Employer.
