Sedgwick County Weed & Pest Department Head

Sedgwick County is looking to hire a full-time Weed & Pest Department Head.  Lead and manage the county's Weed & Pest District, ensuring compliance with Colorado's noxious weed laws.  Oversee strategic planning, budgeting, and execution of weed and pest control programs on public lands and right-of-way, while coordinating efforts with landowners and state agencies.  Click below for a full job-description.  Pay is $17.00 - $20.75/hr depending on experience.

Weed & Pest Job Description

Sedgwick County Landfill

The Sedgwick County Landfill is looking for a full-time landfill manager.  This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and a current drivers license.  One year of experience in operations and maintenance is preferred but not required.  Responsibilities include but not limited to, overseeing daily operation of the landfill, running heavy equipment and operation of the scale house.  It also includes responding to requests and concerns from the public, monitoring loads and reclaim areas to meet state and federal permits.  The wage range is from $19.00 to $23.00 per hour depending on experience and years of service.  Benefits include health insurance, retirement, and paid time off.

Sedgwick County - Full Time Maintenance Position

Sedgwick County is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual for a full-time Maintenance Position.  This role includes mowing, snow removal, sprinklers, light electrical and plumbing work, cleaning and general maintenance of county facilities.  We are looking for an individual who can work independently on the tasked items yet also be willing to work as a team when necessary.  Ideal candidates should have basic knowledge of facility upkeep and be willing to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.  Facilities include the Courthouse, Colorado Welcome Center, Community Center, and the Stretesky Pavilion. 

Position Details:

  • Pay: $17.00 - $17.75 per hour, based on experience
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Location: Sedgwick County Colorado
  • CDL: Not Required
