Sedgwick County Building Maintenance

Maintenance job requires person to be able to maintain and inspect the Welcome Center, Courthouse, Annex, Community Center and Museums under the control of Sedgwick County.

 

This position requires basic plumbing ,electrical, heating & air conditioning, mechanical and carpenter skills.  The position will allow for subcontractors on larger jobs approved by the Board of County Commissioners, however, normal maintenance repairs will be the responsibility of this position.  Responsibilities for this position will be snow removal of all buildings (R&B may help in moderate/heavy snow conditions), coordination of all buildings with the various department heads, Courthouse Security, Museum and Colorado Tourism Staff & coordinating with R&B for use of heavy equipment required to perform various tasks related to this position, submission of annual budget, oversee the cleaning staff and coordinate schedules, including seasonal hired help and subcontractors, ordering supplies required for cleaning, restroom condiments & maintenance, keeping records, schematic of building wiring, internet cables, etc, developing a routine maintenance schedule for equipment used in the maintenance / cleaning of the buildings/grounds under their control and a schedule for HVAC & RO water and air filters and maintenance schedule for the emergency generator for communication center. 

 

A CDL, class B or higher, must be maintained. The pay range will vary depending on experience between $16.42 per hour and $23.17 per hour and this job is 40 hours per week.

Sedgwick County Communications Center

The Sedgwick County Communications Center is accepting applications for the following positions.  Salary will be based on experience.

Emergency Communications Specialists: Requirements include but are not limited to high school diploma or GED, Colorado driver's license, ability to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain CPR, first aid, EMD, and CCIC/NCIC clearance.

 

Emergency Communications Center Director: Requirements include those listed above in addition to: (bachelor's degree in business management, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or two (2) year equivalent college certifications), (three (3) years experience in a 911 Communications Center or Emergency Services with administrative or supervisory responsibilities in another related field).  Must complete APCO Certified Public Safety Executive, Registered Public Safety Leader, NENA Center Manager Certification, ENP991 Certification.
