It is the taxpayers responsibility to obtain a building permit for all new and remodeled property with the county. Per Sedgwick County Ordinances, no building shall be erected, occupied, moved or structurally altered until a permit has been issued by the Planning & Zoning Department.  Sedgwick County does not currently adhere to any specific building code, nor do we have a licensed building inspector. 

If you live with the town limits of Julesburg, Ovid or Sedgwick, please contact your respective town clerk for the rules governing the criteria for obtaining a building permit.
